Both Kate and her successor, Alex, went out of their way to create a trip that met our interests. They supported us through the entire process, from planning, to on-the-ground in country, and to the eventual return home.

Rebecca set up a perfect trip. All of our transfers and tickets were spot on. The drivers and vehicles were excellent. We particularly enjoyed the tours. Tour guides George, Theo, Apostoles, and Lazarus were phenomenal- incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. They imparted a depth to our travels that we would NEVER have achieved on our own. Luxury catamaran in Santorini had such wonderful staff as well. We also enjoyed our cooking class in Naxos with Maria and family - they really contributed to our falling in love with this beautiful island and the people living there. Our accommodations were terrific in location comfort and friendly staff. 👏 👏 👏

Loved loved loved this place! Beautiful 2nd floor (Rea) room with a hot tub on the balcony. The street does run in front but the room was quiet and the street didn’t seem that busy to us. People have complained about the air conditioning but if you ask the staff, they will show you exactly how to set it and it worked beautifully. Breakfast was included and was delicious. We ate twice at the restaurant and it was among our favorite meals. The beach is great with plenty of lounges and umbrellas. Absolutely the most wonderful aspect of our stay was the friendly attentive staff!

Beautiful room and view. Location was excellent. North of the busy center and therefore quieter. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the caldera was a highlight. Staff were so wonderful.

Tips for future travelers

We stayed on the second floor. The main floor had a day bed and access to the balcony. Up steep marble stairs was a darling bedroom. Didn’t use the hot tub located in this room. (Don’t really understand why anyone would want one in this climate to be honest) air conditioning worked great.

So happy that we used Jenny at Kim Kim for planning our trip to Iceland. She took all the stress out of planning the trip away and we were able to just go and enjoy it ! We like traveling on our own And this way were able to do it without missing things because she had all reservations made with plenty of time for doing what we wanted at the pace we enjoy and provided a map with things we wouldn’t want to miss along the way. Her choice of lodging was great and the adventures we needed reservations for we’re booked with excellent guides- We loved Thor with Katlatrack for our Katla ice cave tour, Troll for ice climbing and the zodiac boat with Glacier Lagoon were all fantastic, plus a couple other adventures. I would definitely take another trip using Kim Kim !

Isabella was 1000% spot on with every detail planned. I traveled with my mom and daughter to Paris and every day was perfectly planned. Isabella went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. An example...we went to a wine and cheese pairing at a cheese shop. I briefly mentioned I was curious the wines they would be pairing cheese with as I am a wine enthusiast. I didnt make a big thing of it but was curious. When we arrived to the event, the host handed me a paper with the details of each wine, specifically saying it was for me because I had inquired. Every detail was perfect... I would absolutely use kimkim again, especially Isabella.

Private drivers and our guide Andy were fantastic. The hotel for the first night was very nice and great customer service. Unfortunately, the second hotel, los Lagos, I believe that was the name, had extremely low customer service. Especially the front desk and bar. They treated you like a bother. The lodge and grounds was beautiful. The room was very clean. The bar area was dirty. The other two resorts were very nice and friendly. The snorkel trip was the only activity that was a disappointment. They mixed divers with snorkeling which resulted in a focus on the divers ( which should be it is dangerous if everything isn't checked and rechecked) the area was not really a good area to snorkeling. Also, we were picked up at 630, missed breakfast to go and wait at the dive office for over an hour. They were waiting on a diver to be certified in a pool, so the entire group had to wait. By the time we left the dive office for the boat three hours had passed, it was almost 930. The staff was very nice. I would look for another snorkeling company. All other activities were very good.

This was our first time using kimkim and we had a great experience. Angela was so helpful and very responsive! She listened to what we wanted and planned accordingly, also suggested a few things which was great. Everything was well planned...from landing to departing, drivers on time, guides on time, our hotels were great and our tours were so much fun. Thank you Angela for being a great planner and for your great communication skills.

Tasos was very helpful. Our trip turned out to be even more amazing than I imagined. All of our tours were either private or had no more than 2 people from another party which was awesome. Our drivers always only had my family of 4 in the vehicle and were always on time. I did wish the itinerary was more clear on when we had to find our own ride. But when I asked Tasos he was responsive and answered all of my many questions. I think next time I use Kimkim I'll be more familiar with their itinerary formatting. Our most favorite part was the Amalfi Coast and the private boat tour. There's nothing we would have changed in our trip. Highly recommend Kimkim and look forward to working with Tasos again.

Our three days and nights in Salzburg exceeded our expectations , which were quite high to begin with. Mitch, the guide who provided two days of tours (one for Salzburg and one to drive us to Hallstatt) was an excellent fit for our group of 8 persons. He knew Salzburg details but did not flood us with information, however, when we asked questions he could provide interesting details in response. Clearly, his 30 years of living in Salzburg and his highly developed social skills were key factors in providing us with one of the best guided tour experiences we have ever had.

In Hallstatt, Tomaz connected us with Brigitta, a guide with 20 years of experience leading tours. She is a local woman who knew the history of Hallstatt well and could explain why the town became a World Heritage Site. For a walking tour guide, Brigitta was the best we have ever experienced.

The lodging accommodations provided by Hof Wirt were fully worthy of its 3-Star status, if not more. Clean, comfortable, staff-friendly and the breakfast spread was amazing.

Its been 2 weeks since we have got home from our holiday in France and we are both still on cloud 9 from our experience there. The whole trip seemed to strike a perfect balance seeing a little from different areas. A little of the mediterranean, a little country in the medieval town of Avignon to ending in Paris. Dream trip and we couldn't be happier. Isabelle was great and so easy to work with. She's responsive and knows how to navigate around budgets and individual tastes with grace and patience.
We will be dreaming of this trip for YEARS to come!!

Linda planned an amazing trip for us. We enjoyed the hotels, tour guides, and excursions.

I will start out by saying TERRY was absolutely AMAZING!!! Cannot say enough wonderful things about her and how helpful she was in planning the most perfect vacation for us. She listened to what we were wanting and gave great suggestions. She took the time to chat with us on the phone which made communicating our needs so much easier. HOTELS: all the hotels were really nice, but want to give a special shout out to Hunkubabbar Guesthouse and Arnarstapi hotels. They were both so incredibly unique and wonderful and the little towns they were in were so special! EXCURSIONS: Silfra Snorkeling was our favorite and a once in a lifetime experience. Also, the people that ran that outfit were above and beyond fantastic and accommodating. Our younger son was last minute not able to do the snorkel and they offered us a refund for him on the spot! Kayaking on the glacier lagoon was extraordinary as well! All of our excursions( and we did a lot of them) were top notch, well organized, well run and truly fabulous. If there was one thing to miss I would say maybe the Lava Cave. FAVORITE AREAS: Peninsula, Golden Circle and Kirkjubaejarklauster. It was all so spectacular it's hard to pick just one thing. The waterfalls, the whale watching, going into a glacier...and ending with a day in Reykjavik and Blue Lagoon was just what the doctor ordered! Truly an adventure of a lifetime!!!! We didn't want to leave!

What I learned on this trip is that prices for the trip could vary depending on the local specialist you end up getting through Kim Kim. A friend of mine decided to visit Morocco the same time I was going. So she reached out to Kim Kim, got a different local specialist ended up with the same itinerary, same selected hotels, her stay was even slightly longer by two days as she also visited Casablanca and her cost was lower than mine. She also got superior accommodation than we did in terms of rooms she was provided at the different hotels/riads that we stayed at. The following is my attempt to provide the readers with things we have learned that may help them in planning their trip a little bit better by learning from what we experienced.

Marrakesh: stayed at Palais Sebban. Beautiful Riad and highly recommend it. Just be aware that most rooms require going up some steps but staff were attentive to bringing up the luggage for us as it would have been challenging on our own. However, when it came to our tour guide assigned to us in Marrakesh he appeared not to know or be interested in sharing anything about the history of the country. The tour basically consisted of having our driver bring us to the majorelle garden, the madraseh and then the rest of the time walking through the market and peeking at bakeries and sampling local food. The main site that people visit in Morocco the Bahia palace he did not take us to and told us we can go there on our own and told us we can go there around 5pm as it takes one hour to tour until it closes at 6. Well we went there at 5 and apparently it closes every day at 4! How can a tour guide not know that? So we missed seeing one of the main sites in Marrakesh as we were leaving in the morning the next day.

when we complained to Abdel and Said, they were very apologetic. They booked dinner for us that night In Marrakesh as an apology. Said also wanted to upgrade our accommodation at our next stop but I wish he did not. The hotel he moved us to la perle du dades in Boumalne was run down. It it a beautiful property but must has gone through disrepair during covid. Our room had small ants on the bathroom counter. The other room we had for our kids the air conditioner did not work. The chaise lounges around the pool must has seen better days. I have to admit when I told our driver Ilyas that we did not like the Riad and wanted to go to our originally booked accommodation in this area he immediately complied with our request.

Boumalne Dades via Ait Benhaddou and ouarzazate: this was listed as a 6.5 hour drive from Marrakesh but please be prepared that does not include stops. So the trip really took us closer to 8.5 hours. We stopped at the Ouarzazate to tour the movie studio which was pretty lame. Not worth the time or money spent. The studio tour provided by a local guide was lame. As mentioned earlier this is the stop that we had the unfortunate experience of changing our original hotel to la perle du dades. However, the hotel that we originally had booked and ended up staying at was hotel xaluca dades. Very nice hotel. We highly recommend it. Beautiful views from the pool area and beautiful pool.

Merzouga and orient desert camp: this is another 4.5-5 hour drive to get to our meeting point to the people who run the desert camp. This was the highlight of our trip. Our guide got us mounted on our camels and led us through beautiful dunes to the camp which is about 1-1.5 hours. Then you dismount and wait on the dunes to watch the sun set. Absolutely beautiful!

Merzouga to Fez drive and stay at Riad Salam Fez: this apparently is the longest drive. It said on the schedule as 7.5 hour drive but keep in mind that does not include stops along the way. So we asked our driver to limit the stops so we skipped viewing the smaller of the two gorges we were supposed to see. It took us about 8.5 hours to get to fez. Riad salam fez was beautiful. We just rested that night. Next morning we were met by a guide who took us to a pottery ceramic shop for a demonstration as fez has the best clay for pottery. Then took us to the tannery and carpet place.

Chefchaouen and Lina read and spa: this was another 4.5 hour drive with no stops. But we stopped at the Roman ruins of Volubilis so it took a bit longer than that. The ruins were interesting to see. You pick up a local guide at the entrance for about 150-200 dirham ($20) for a 45 minute walk through the ruins. Recommend doing that otherwise you would not know what you are looking at. Chefshaoun is absolutely beautiful with its blue bldg. colors. Hiked up to the Spanish mosque for the sunset which I highly recommend. We did not have a tour guide scheduled here although our friends who used a different Kimkim local specialist had a tour guide assigned to them who took them through the town in the morning and gave them a bit of history and background. So we did not get that. It just reflects the some variations in the local specialists way of doing things.

Last stop was Algiers which was a 2.5 hour drive. We stayed at hotel farah which is a nice modern hotel that we just needed to decompress from the trip and did nothing but lay by the pool and enjoy the view. Our driver took us to the Hercules cave and the point where the Mediterranean meats the Atlantic. Very nice.

As you can see from the long review this was way too much packed into a 9 day emtrip. My advise is don’t do this break neck trip at the pace we did. If I was to cut something out I would cut boumalne dades and maybe Tangier and extend stays at Marrakesh and fez so to unwind from the long drives.

Last but not least our driver Ilyas was the best part of our trip. He was very accommodating and professional and dealt with the hiccups as best as he could.

We had an amazing time in Portugal and Spain. Patricia booked great tours, good hotels, and covered pretty much all our requests. The easiest trip I ever booked.
My original trip to Japan was canceled at the last moment (with another travel company) because Japan is still closed to tourists, and I really wanted to get away from work for a few days. It was so last minute, so I didn't think it would be possible. Luckily, I found Kimkim and they were incredibly easy to work with. After booking everything, I actually didn't think that I was done, I figured it would be more complicated, but it was soooo fast and easy to book.
They really included all the things I loved. I would 100% recommend this for anyone that wants to travel but doesn't want to hassle researching transportation, hotels, etc.

We also appreciated all the planning and organizing done by you with regards to all the details of the trip. On a scale of 1-10 I would give our KimKim experience a 10+++ and on that scale I would give our experience with you and Tailormade Andalucia a 10+++ too. The trip was a perfect blend of sightseeing and free time. All of the stresses of planning such a trip were assumed by KimKim and by you which reflected the benefits of working with someone who lives in the region and has the benefit of planning trips for tourists. Rocia from KimKim was in contact with us regularly during the trip to make sure everything was going well and she responded quickly any time we had a question. We thoroughly enjoyed all of our tours and found the guides to be exceptionally knowledgeable ( Ana, Filippo, Diego, Maria, Jose, Joaquin and Teresa). It was great to meet you and we loved the tapas tour with you in Sevilla. All of the hotels were fabulous and each unique in their own way. The Hotel H10s were great (centrally located and spacious) and we really enjoyed our stay in Ronda at the Hotel La Fuente de la Higuera and at the Hotel Fuerte Conil in Conil de la Frontera. The hike with Filippo in Costa Brava was a highlight as was the gorge walkway in Caminito Del Rey. Touring the Alhambra in Granada and the Alcazar in Cordoba were definitely take-away memories. If you ever took a big trip as a kid and your parents did all the planning and organizing and you got to go and have fun and just enjoy the trip, that would be how working with you and KimKim worked for us. I know we will plan future trips with KimKim and I have certainly recommended them to friends who are thinking about travelling. This was a trip of a lifetime that was made possible by Peruvian Soul! Our main guide, Julio Quispe, was absolutely the best person to show us around Cusco. He is so knowledgeable about Incan and Peruvian culture and history. Julio is the most incredibly patient and sweet tour guide anyone can ask for. He anticipated our needs, gave us great advice for acclimating to the altitude, cheered us on during our hike, and always did it with a smile on his face. He constantly checked in on us to see how we were feeling and making sure we were having a best experience in Peru. Eddie, our guide in Machu Picchu was excellent as well. He was also very patient with us during our hike up Huyana Picchu. Our entire experience with the Peruvian Soul team has been an amazing one. Every detail thought out prior to us coming so that we could have an amazing memorable trip did not go unnoticed. We loved our experience!

Planning our trip with Sharon was effortless. She was extremely responsive and took care of our every question and concern. Our driver and guide, Hussein became like family. His excellent driving and language skills aside, he is one of the most compassionate, kind and caring human beings that I have ever met. He made our trip very special. I highly recommend Kimkim and especially Hussein. Moroccan’s are some of the nicest, accommodating people we have met while traveling. The country’s landscape is gorgeous with gorges, valleys and stellar panoramic views. Staying in Riad’s in the Medina’s is extra special. The food is excellent, albeit a bit repetitive. Other cuisines are available in larger cities and Hussein took us somewhere different when we had enough tangines. We did a 6 day immersion from Marrakech (city guide one day and hike/gardens the second - Dades Valley - camel ride and camp in the dessert and up to Fez for 2 days. Be prepared for a couple of LONG driving days. There is much to see and it’s hard to nap because you don’t want to miss anything. I would recommend getting an antibiotic from your doctor prior to your trip as we experienced traveler’s diarrhea although we didn’t drink tap water, we did consume all fruits and vegetables. They were too good to resist. Morocco is a country that bargains when purchasing items. Be prepared. We had separate guides for Marrakech, Dades Valley and Fez. We wished we could have had our Hussein for these excursions as well. Their English was very good and knowledge extensive but they clearly received a commission from specific shops. Some tours included an instructional demonstration of a specific craft which we very much enjoyed but typically lead to a gift shop and sales pitch afterwards. We have found this to be true in other countries and on other tours. This is how they make their money and it’s good to be prepared. It’s important to have a mind set of traveling to experience another culture and be prepared to not to have every creature comfort of home (lack of toiletries, subpar linens/towels, temperamental toilets or lack of toilet paper, no half & half for coffee). My favorite experience was having tea with a Berber family and seeing how they live, their daily routine and the “appliances” they use. The Medina in Fez was also a high point. Taking in the countryside and views during the drive and having conversation with Hussein about himself, the culture and norms from his perspective was also a highlight. Morocco is not to be missed, especially with Hussein and knowing that Sharon is an email away. Go and have a great time!
