There's a lot to see and appreciate across the many historic sites on Rapa Nui. Unfortunately for us, we arrived on the island and tested positive for Covid-19 the next day. We quarantined for the majority of our time on the island, and the local health authority released us from quarantine half a day before our departing flight. This was entirely appropriate on their part, and in no way impacts our review of this experience. Our local guide, Nicolas, spent that half day showing us as many parts of the island as he could, and we thoroughly enjoyed the time we did get to spend with him. He and the hotel staff had gone out of their way to keep us comfortable and safe while we isolated ourselves in our two adjoining private bungalows. We can't say enough how much we appreciated the staff at the Taha Tai and the attentive service of Nicolas.

After we left Rapa Nui, we had more time in Santiago and in Valparaiso, and we loved the experiences arranged for us by our in-country specialist, Lorena. She and her team had also stayed in touch regularly during our quarantine to ensure we had everything we needed.

We loved this hotel more than any other, and our rooftop rooms with private terraces were extraordinary. The staff was friendly and helpful. The design and decor were lovely. Be prepared for the stairs, but don't let that stop you from staying here unless you are unable to climb stairs on your own. A friendly thought: if you're unable to navigate stairs, Valparaiso may not be the best city for you to visit.

Chris planned a great trip for us including wonderful tour guides in Florence (Allie), Cinque Terra (Nico) and Rome (Bryon and Barbara). The cooking classes in Florence (Maria was so fun and sweet) and Rome (Alex also great) were perfect to help learn about all of the delicious food we ate throughout Italy.
All in all the service was excellent and helpful when needed to call for any help or confirmations while traveling. Highly recommend!

Beautiful trip to see some of the northeastern parts of Brazil. Among the highlights were spending the afternoon in the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park and swimming in the lagoons; one of the most jaw-dropping natural wonders we've seen. Also spectacular was watching the sunset congregation of thousands of red guarás in the Delta Do Parnaíba.

Our guide in Salvador, Bruno, was particularly informative about the realities of Brazilian life and history and Pedro, our guide in Parnaíba, was playful and entertaining, helping us with our poor Portuguese pronunciation and creating a playlist for us of Brazilian music.

There were a few minor hiccups along the way but Rachel was able to make adjustments and provided a couple extras to ensure we had a trip smooth.

Very nice hotel with especially good breakfast buffet in Copacabana and right on the beach. This is more of a large corporate hotel and doesn't really have a lot of character but the staff was friendly and the room very comfortable. The beach view didn't hurt either. It's about a 20 minute walk to neighboring Ipanema where most of the nicer shops and restaurants are and, if I were to do this trip again, would prefer to stay in that area (though there are fewer hotels there).

Beautiful trip through the delta on a speedboat to see a variety of birds and crabs. Culminates at sunset with a spectacular congregation of red guarás on a small island. Driving back through delta in near total darkness was oddly calming (if a bit scary). Boat driver was excellent.

Half-Day Tour of Two Brothers Peak & Vidigal Favela

Rio de Janeiro

Unique visit into a favela and hike to top of prominent peak overlooking Rio. To start we rode on the backs of motorcycles to get to the top of the favela, where the hike started, and then walked through it on the way down. This is not an easy hike. It's not particularly dangerous but there are some somewhat steep areas and it can take a good hour to get to the top. Bring plenty of water, especially on a hot day, and decent shoes (no flip-flops).

This was my first time using KimKim and Tomaz, and only my second time using a European based travel agent. I picked KimKim based on online reviews. I was somewhat apprehensive because I had no experience using this agency and had never been to Austria. I admit, I was a bit guarded during the planning process.
Once we received all of our confirmations, I was able to relax. When we got to Austria, we found all of the arrangements to be quite good and reliable. We can't thank you enough. I would recommend you to others.

(The only thing that was confusing for us was KimKim using a partner travel agency -- it would be more reassuring to know in advance.)

We had a great time with unique experiences in Medellin, and Cartegena. Our guide Diego in Medellin was excellent. He encouraged us to speak spanish and made sure we were comfortable at all times. Great time!

KIM KIM is top notch. This was our second vacation planned by this excellent company and it will not be our last. The individual service and attention to detail Is amazing. Rinolda planned a wonderful anniversary trip for us back to Iceland. She answered all of our questions and worked hard in a timely manner to book our full itinerary during a very busy time to visit Iceland. Plus, it was fabulous to meet Rinolda in person on our glacier boat tour. Rinolda is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her.

Excellent trip to Argentina! Fran with KimKim was excellent in planning our itinerary and made changes when needed due to changing conditions in the country. I will definitely use KimKim again!

Belize and Guatemala were new to me and we had one specific week in mind, at fairly short notice. Kimkim found us an amazing local agent, Eduardo, who suggested an itinerary including hotels, activities and transfers, and it was anbsolutely fantastic. The added challenge came when AA cancelled our flight and we had to find another way to make it all work - which Eduardo did with considerable creativity.

Our tour included an amazing jungle hotel, Tikal, Xunantunich on horseback, San Ignacio, cave tubing and Caye Caulker. All in 6 days. I wish we could have stayed longer but sadly we couldn’t.

.would very highly recommend Guatemala, Belize, Eduardo and Kimkim.

Due to our local specialists' screw up, the initial hotel planned on for Edinburgh (close in and walk-able to most everything) was replaced by a country club far from the city center. As a result, we ended up spending time and money on taxis.

Edinburgh Castle was interesting and the Afternoon Tea was an amazing experience.

The Highlands bus tour was long. There were mechanical difficulties on the bus so we got canned dialog - we missed out on information/explanation the driver could have given us. The short Loch Ness cruise was informative and fun.

We specifically asked not to include walking tours due to my wife's inability to walk long distances. The only event booked in Glasgow - a walking tour.

We feel like consideration was not given to drive times. We had no time to explore Ambleside or Morton-in-Marsh. We spent the days driving and arrived in Ambleside and Morton-in-Marsh after everything closed, and had to take off early in the morning without seeing anything. Both hotels were lovely.

The London hotel was pretty far away from anything. We did not like this hotel but it served its purpose. Again, the changing of the guard was a 2 hour walking tour - we ended up bowing out of that event.

tl;dr It took 5 iterations to put together our itinerary and still we were not listened to. Would we use kimkim again? Probably not but we did appreciate the overall structure of the planning process.

It would have been nice to have received a text from kimkim during the trip asking how we were doing.

We had an incredible family vacation for 11 days in Croatia. Bruno was fantastic: so helpful and knowledgeable about what my children (9 and 10 years old) would enjoy. He arranged everything for us and we were thrilled: local guides, family-run restaurants and the most gorgeous scenery. We spent time in Dubrovnik, Korcula and Split, with a day trip to Krka National Park.

We were welcomed at all our transfers, which made arrivals worry-free and let us get right to the fun parts. The accommodations recommended by Bruno were excellent, and the kids enjoyed the city tours with our wonderful, engaging guides Marijana and Victoria. (Great orientation to the history and culture of Croatia without the kids getting bored reading the guidebook!)

Unforgettable experiences arranged by Bruno included a day with super-friendly, Croatia expert Robi on his boat, with gorgeous views of Dubrovnik city walls and swimming at the blue cave that the kids LOVED; fresh oysters caught for us with wine provided by a local fisherman and the most excellent lunch (thanks to our wonderful guide Goran); wine tasting at a family vineyard; and the trip to Krka National Park, where we enjoyed lunch with a waterfall at our feet. Jure was an excellent guide for that day. He took the time to stop at look-outs along the way, and the kids enjoyed that tour a lot.

The food was excellent. My husband and I love seafood, but my son is allergic. Everyone was very kind about ensuring his food was cooked separately, or he had a special order. We were grateful.

We especially liked the Lacroma Hotel in Dubrovnik, where we could hear live music every night from our balcony.

We hope to be back one day, and for now have lots of great memories of our first family vacation in Europe.

Whole-heartedly recommend Bruno and his team for a trip to Croatia! Thank you for everything.

Mathia did a great job planning us exactly the trip we wanted. He was responsive and easy to communicate with, and was on top of everything. He was also a great resource during our trip, as there was a huge storm which disrupted our plans. He was ahead of the game and quickly took care of changing our rental car reservation and getting refunds for things we had to miss. He also helped us change hotels on short notice when we arrived at one hotel that was not what we expected, and dealt with that hotel on getting us a refund. Overall he gets an A+ and we would absolutely do a trip with Mathia again in the future.

Robert ("Robi") is an incredible host in Croatia. He is flexible, super friendly and knowledgeable about all things Croatia (history, food, wineries -- everything!). He is the first guide I have had in a long time that took time to LISTEN to what we wanted and adjusted the tour based on our needs. He took us on several hikes and bike trips that were well thought out, off the beaten path and very "local".

Robi was always on time, well organized and always had a smile on his face. He owns the tour company and it shows - he has new equipment and he is incredibly proud of his organization. I would give 10 stars if I could. One of the best trips we have ever taken.

We had some challenges during our trip due to the flooding and train cancellations. The backup support by Julia was fabulous. So responsive and helpful. Otherwise everything was smooth and well organized. Thank you.

This is my second trip using KimKim and I could not be happier! Our local guide Moonika knocked it out of the park for our 11 day long Girls Trip! By the time we decided on the final trip, I believe we were on our 4th itinerary. Moonkia really listened to what we wanted and it turned out SO good. All the transport (busses, taxis, trains, walking) was seamless and easy. During the trip Moonika was easy to get ahold of though WhatsApp and answered all our questions as they came up.
Our trip was a great mix of culture and outdoor pursuits with a day in Helsinki and a day in Turku to learn about the old and new capitals. The evening bike tour and sauna was super fun. Our guide Philipe took us all around town and we ended up at a sauna overlooking to harbour and a cold dip pool in the Baltic Sea. We loved the train travel and the overnight train to Lapland was a unique experience. The third bunk was pretty high up there!
In Lapland we were booked in with a company called Yllas Experiences. We had a half day canoe trip with Jana who was an excellent guide and knew heaps about the surrounding nature. The next day we went on an overnight walking trip with Jussi. He was an allstar guide, cook, game player, and language teacher. Our breakfast of porridge with cloudberries and reindeer salami melt sandwiches was epic. We had awesome weather the the views of the fells of Lapland were stunning. Yllas experiences had very good quality equipment which was much appreciated!
Our trip finished with a visit to a reindeer farm where we got to pet, feed, and even kiss reindeer. The final stop was a lakeside sauna. Thank you again Moonika for one of the best trips I have ever had!
The two best tips I can think of are: First, ignore what people say about the mosquitoes. They can be not bad at all at certain times. Second, sauna as much as you can! Almost every hotel has a sauna and it it where you get some of the most intimate Finnish experiences.
