If you’re looking for a custom travel experience, we highly recommend Kimkim. Our travel agent, Aleksandra was outstanding. She arranged all of our transportation, accommodations, and excursions. Our transportation drivers were professional, prompt and courteous. All vehicles were immaculate and high quality. We had two private tours in the Donegal area, Nicola Garvey with Turas Cartha and Martin Dooney with Northwest Sherpa Tours. Both were 5 star experiences. All of our accommodations were excellent and our requests through Aleksandra were met, such as river views and bath mats. During the planning process and during the trip, Aleksandra answered all of our questions and concerns respectfully and promptly. What a wonderful trip and a fantastic experience with Kimkim.

The excursions were good with the exception of the cooking class. All we did was chop vegetables and the chef was not a chef but a friend of the farmer. I realize the need to support the farmers but this was really weak and cheaply done. No meat at all in a traditional Greek dish.
Wine tasting was ok but went to too many which seemed like same wines.
Favorites were two boat outings

We had such an amazing trip and its hard to say where we liked the best. I would say Santorini was the most beautiful as far as the the main town we stayed in and the boat cruises on both Crete and Santorini was my favorite.. The water in Crete in Balos was gorgeous and probably the bluest and clearest water I ever swam in. The cooking class was our least favorite as it was not really cooking in our opinion as was more chopping for the the cook and the cook was not really a chef. That was our least favorite. Overall we had an amazing trip and would definitely go back. The food and the people were wonderful. Thank you Siena and Lea for putting together such a wonderful trip! Patty and Frank

Robi was very kind. He was available at all times with maps, pins for meeting places, the next day activities, and recommendations. Every driver for transfers was kind and helpful. hotels were well located, very clean and extraordinarily hospitable. We were very happy with the food, wine, and so many very personal experiences.

Elena was very patient and helpful through out the entire process of planning and then logistics during the trip. An example of the power of KimKim partnering with local guides was when we wanted to add a Flamenco experience she suggested one that provided an absolutely fabulous experience! She understood the focus of our trip and set up activities that were off the beaten path and made us feel special. All the guides, and even drivers, were top notch (and punctual!). Thank you, Elena!

Nicely decorated but lighting in the lobby area was too dim for me to read my map. The floors of the elevators need to be renovated - they are safe but cracked and peeling.

Location

Porto is the second largest city in Portugal so I suggest staying close to a metro station if you want to see various parts of town. We were in great walking distance to some wonderful restaurants.

Location to the Guggenheim. It wasn't readily obvious to us how to find the parking garage when, in fact, it was right in front of us. We also didn't understand how to get out of the garage. Parking is difficult in this area so paying for the parking is understandable and we paid for a taxi so we didn't have to find parking during our daily excursions.

GREAT for transporting luggage so we didn't have to drive our car through the small streets. It is a hilly town so one needs to be fit to walk around. Stay at a more central hotel if you have mobility issues.

Marta and Chef were very helpful. As an American, I love my coffee so waiting for it to come after the breakfast food was served was difficult for me. I always appreciate a coffee pot in my room which many hotels outside the US do not have.

They had been entered our reservation for the wrong date but were able to accommodate us. It is an old hotel that needs a facelift. The front desk, bar and restaurant staff were all very nice.

We recently used KimKim for the first time to map out an anniversary trip to Iceland. Never used the service before (but friends had), but given we’re both busy professionals with zero downtime and knew little about the country … we took a shot on using the service. Fantastic experience! Guòmudur Óli was our local guide and mapped out a perfectly curated trip based on our interests of Art, Food, Hiking & Scenery. We did/saw about 90% of the suggested items and he provided terrific restaurant choices (both casual lunch spots as well as fine dining). Hardly had to lift a finger except for a couple of dinner reservations. We even ran into a small snag with one of our reservations and he was all over it to ensure things were fixed and went smooth; like your own personal concierge! We plan to use KimKim again for future travel and if you get a chance to partner with Guòmudur (aka Gummi) on a trip to Iceland … do it!

The art. The bar. The staff. All of it was superb! Top notch! Favorite stop on our journey in Iceland. Now … it is a bit older. But the beds were comfy and there was a bit of nostalgia in the place. Sitting in the bar with a handcrafted cocktail near the fireplace admiring the art made for a wonderful romantic moment. Highly recommend!

Looks it’s a bit older place … but we were comfortable. Everything was clean. If you’re looking for pristine and modern, this isn’t the place to be. This is warm and cozy and filled to the brim with wonderful art and charm.

Glacier Ice Cave Experience

Ok … first things first. Our guide (Martin) was terrific. Absolutely brilliant! Provided good education on the glacier and geography. He just nailed it and made the experience worth it. I’ve never walked on a glacier before so it was a nice experience to get up close and personal with one; scenery is pretty. Now, what you need to know is it’s about a 30-40 min drive to glacier (30-40 minute return as well). The hike is moderate, not difficult … saw all ages out there. However, you do need to be able to climb the equivalent of a few flights of stairs. The cave itself was a bit of a disappointment … more like a large ice cubby. It was interesting in the sense that you get to walk into a block of ice and see all the layers … but the hike in/out experience takes just about 60 minutes or so. I was expecting more of a spelunking experience … this is not that! And that may be exactly what you’re looking for … and, if so, you’ll be delighted.

She checked in with us numerous times while we were on the trip to Inari which made us feel very comfortable and very well taken care of. We wanted to see the beauty and character of Iceland and Gummy did not disappoint! Our 10 day adventure was just that! From the coast, peninsulas, mountains and waterfalls to relaxing in lagoons and quaint accommodations and hiking on glaciers, caves, and highlands, this was a trip of a lifetime. Gummy took the crazy out of the planning and made our vacation a lifetime memory we will not soon forget. Thank you Gummy and Kim Kim.

Very small accommodation and not particularly clean. I don't think the place had been dusted in several months. If you were on the top bunk, you could see layers of dust on cabinets and shelves.

Sólheimajökull Glacier Walk

Overall a great experience, however, I would not call this a "Walk". There are some very steep hills and you need to be in pretty good shape.

Glacier caves are ever changing and disappearing at a rapid rate. Well worth a visit while you still can. The journey to the cave was so much fun with some great photo ops and information of the area.

The trip was absolutely amazing!
Roberto (Robi) did an unbelievable job getting it all organized, it was truly a trip of a lifetime. From the moment we got there we felt welcomed and very well taken care of from our wonderful drivers (Matty and Dino) to our tour guides (Petar and Antea). All, including Robi, were very gracious with a great passion and wealth of knowledge for their country. I would highly recommend Robi to anyone as much for his professionalism as well as his genuine heart and above and beyond service that shines through, often checking in with everyone to make sure all are enjoying their experience. Unforgettable trip!

Kimkim and our local specialist, Maria Grazia, made our trip to Italy spectacular! They provided us with a fantastic itinerary and put together a great trip plan for our honeymoon. The places and activities they recommended were perfect for our wishes, and they were able to make adjustments to the initially provided itinerary to make our honeymoon truly the trip of a lifetime.
They created a plan to stay in four different Italian cities - Santa Margherita Ligure, Levanto, Sorrento, and Rome - and see many more during our two week trip. They connected us with excellent local guides in each place, and were very responsive whenever we had any questions or needed additional information. They also made our transportation from location to location seamless, making travel quite easy when it could have been one of the biggest challenges of moving through much of Italy.
Overall we would highly recommend Kimkim for a trip to a place you are not very familiar with - they will be able to create a great itinerary for you and make your trip easy so you can just enjoy your vacation. Maria Grazia was also great, and she provided an excellent list of activities and locations for us to visit. Overall we are very happy with the entire experience and will definitely use Kimkim for any similar trips abroad in the future.

The black cab tour was good. The changing of the guard tour was not good at all. Not only was there no changing of the guard, but there was really very little else offered other than gossip at that tour. The bus trip to Bath and Stonehenge was overcrowded and the guide actually told us to separate from the group when we got to Bath because we didn’t have wristbands like everyone else. This would be the private guide mentioned in the description. The tour at Oxford was lovely. The hotels were good.

Planowanie poszło szybko i sprawnie, tym bardziej, że był to dosyć spontaniczny wyjazd, więc czasu było mało. Adam wprowadzał zmiany na bieżąco, sprawdzał szybko możliwe opcje hotelowe i przesyłał propozycje, w miarę zmieniających się okoliczności (np. brak biletów danego dnia na wylot do Islandii :D). W związku z tym musieliśmy zmienić / skrócić nasz wyjazd o dwa dni, co poszło super sprawnie i okazało się, że i tak zobaczyliśmy większość głównych atrakcji, które chcieliśmy. Kilka odpuściliśmy przez wzgląd, że lubimy pobyć dłużej w kawiarniach i restauracjach, lub po prostu pobyc w danym miejscu i się trochę pozachwycać. Wypad na lodowiec sztos! Diamentowa plaża wspaniała! Islandia jest piękna, krajobrazy zachwycają, wrócimy tam na pewno na północną część, tym razem na dłużej ;) Dziękujemy!
